HMR3601 Gyro-Stabilized Digital Compass

Honeywell introduces its HMR3601 ¦ÌPOINT® gyro-stabilized digital compass to reduce effects of magnetic disturbances

HMR3601 is a gyro-stabilized digital magnetic compass that combines the latest gyro technology with advanced digital magnetic compass hardware and software. HMR3601 features a MEMS silicon rate gyro built into the z-axis. The benefit of gyro stabilization is the ability to overcome magnetic transient disturbances. HMR3601 includes closed loop magnetometers, hard and soft iron compensation, world magnetic model for declination (variation), and high-mechanical shock tolerance. It has high precision (0.15¡ã resolution) and 0.5¡ã typical heading accuracy. See specification table for details.

A development kit is available, which includes DB9 serial data and power cable, user manual, Windows^® host test program with data recording and graphic data display, direct RS232 interface, and alternate connector attachment boards and brass base plate with mounting screws and strain relief.
