SparkFun¡¯s nRF52832 breakout is a powerful multiprotocol single chip solution for ultra-low-power (ULP) wireless applications incorporating Nordic Semiconductor¡¯s latest best-in-class performance radio transceiver, a 32-bit ARM® Cortex®-M4F CPU, and 512 kB Flash and 64 kB RAM memory. The nRF52832 supports Bluetooth® Smart (formerly known as Bluetooth low energy), ANT, and 2.4 GHz proprietary ultra-low-power wireless communication protocol stacks along with an NFC-A tag interface for out-of-band (OOB) pairing.

The nRF52832 Breakout provides easy access to all of the Nordic Semiconductor nRF52832 chip¡¯s features and breaks out all of the nRF52832¡¯s 32 configurable I/O pins, offering support for SPI, I²C, UART, PWM, and ADCs.  Also provided are a 32.768 kHz RTC crystal, a user-programmable button and LED, and a trace antenna to send and receive the 2.4 GHz transmissions. Additionally, the breakout comes pre-programmed with a serial bootloader.

In addition to providing access to the Nordic chip¡¯s I/O pins, the breakout board includes a handful of external components. It has an operating voltage of 1.7 V and 3.6 V, and the board includes a 3.3 V regulator with a maximum input of 6 V, allowing the board to be powered with batteries or a regulated wall supply.
